If your arthritis affects your knees, you may be able to slow its effects by dropping excess weight. Losing weight will ease the stress and stain on your painful joints. Extra stress leads to extra pain and accelerates deterioration. Weight loss can help reduce further problems.

Various medications are available that your doctor is able to prescribe to you in order to help with the symptoms of arthritis. Just make sure you do as your doctor explains to you and before you know it, you should begin to feel relief from your pain. If you find it to be ineffective, you should speak with your doctor because there may be other factors involved.

Be ready. Your arthritis could become painful at any time so having a plan to follow just in case is a good choice. Take a break between your tasks, and make sure you can ask someone to help you in case you are hurting, and still need to perform daily tasks.
