Having hobbies or outside interests will help tremendously with depression. When people are not busy and spend too much time dwelling on certain negative thoughts, they often feel more depressed than those who engage in different activities. Getting up and out is often helpful in fighting feelings of depression so choose a hobby that gets you out with other people, such as a class in painting or pottery.
