People who have diabetes should include healthy, complex carbohydrates in their diet. Avoid very low-carb diets, as they deprive your body of much needed nutrients like fiber, minerals and vitamins. Carbs naturally give you energy, that can keep you going throughout the day.

Get regular exercise. If you exercise regularly, you can ensure your body will effectively process glucose and insulin. Exercise should be a major part of a diabetic persons life.
