If you are trying to get out of a depression, try a new hobby, or take up one that you used to enjoy. Volunteering in your community is a fun and rewarding new hobby. It will also help you feel better about yourself.

Research has indicated that fish like salmon, halibut and tuna have omega-3 fatty acids that can help temper depression symptoms.
